Syphilis
Syphilis is a bacterial STI.
It can be contracted or passed from person to person during oral, vaginal or anal sex. It can also be contracted by touching a rash or sore of an infected person.
Syphilis can be treated with antibiotics but if left untreated can lead to serious health damage of the heart, joints or nervous system, including the brain, spinal cord and nerves.
